Could You Help Keep Monyash Connected? |
||
|
Good afternoon, I hope you are well. We are currently looking for one or more local residents who may be interested in helping coordinate Neighbourhood Watch in Monyash. The role is flexible and can be shared between several people, existing community groups, volunteers, parish councillors, local organisations or community groups. Many successful Neighbourhood Watches are supported by a small team rather than relying on a single Coordinator. As part of Derbyshire Neighbourhood Watch's new Rural Coordinator Network, Monyash would become part of a wider network connecting villages across Derbyshire and the Peak District. This will help create stronger links between neighbouring communities and ensure important information can be shared quickly and effectively. With rural crime, scams and incidents often affecting multiple villages across the Peak District, being connected to neighbouring communities has never been more important. Whether it is suspicious activity, thefts, anti-social behaviour, rogue traders, wildlife crime, farm and machinery thefts, or scams targeting residents, information can be shared across the network to help villages stay informed and vigilant. Neighbourhood Watch is about much more than crime prevention. We are increasingly helping communities access funding, support and resources that can benefit local people, including: • Biodiversity and nature projects Through the Rural Coordinator Network, villages can also share ideas, experiences and successful projects, helping communities learn from one another and work together where appropriate. The role can be as little or as much as you would like it to be. We will provide support, guidance, training and resources, and there may also be funding available to support local initiatives and Neighbourhood Watch activity within the village. If you would like to find out more, or simply have an informal chat about what is involved, please reply to this email. Together we can help keep Monyash connected, informed and supported, ensuring the village continues to have a strong voice within Derbyshire's growing rural community network. Kind regards, Abbie Coleman | ||
